The Essay Prompt

The essay prompt for the Winter 2022 quarter is:

old school data entry

“The Coronavirus Pandemic has drastically affected all areas of life over the past 2.5 years. How has it affected your community specifically (retail, food service, workplace, etc), and how do you think it will affect the future?”

Please write and submit your response in a double-spaced Word document, editable PDF, or RTF format.

As we strive to score the entries purely on the content and subsistence of the writing, be sure to not include any personally identifiable information (name, email, etc) in the submitted documents or filenames.

Please note: Every quarter, this essay topic will change. These changes will take effect on the last month of Q1 (March), Q2 (June), Q3 (September), and Q4 (December).

Questions and Answers

How can I increase my chances of winning?

The first thing you can do to increase your chances of winning is not plagiarizing. Everything must be in your own words from your own insights. All submissions will be checked for plagiarism, and those found guilty will be immediately disqualified.

We love data, so any and all local data and information that you can cite to further reinforce your claims will absolutely help you get noticed.

This data may come from a local real estate professional in your area, a published real estate report and/or study that highlights your local community, or a simple article published by a local news outlet. No matter where it comes from, the more local it is to your area, the better. Oh, and did we mention that we love data?
