Specialties Industrial, Office
Rich Mermelstein has been involved in the local commercial real estate market for three decades, specializing in office leasing, investment sales which he conducts locally, nationally, and internationally, and advisory services. At the heart of his role with NAI Puget Sound Properties is his work with family-run businesses and nonprofits; he supports these clients through a variety of tasks, from the buying and selling of land to the leasing of office and industrial spaces and more. His work is largely territory based. He primarily operates in Seattle's close-in and peripheral markets, including those in the Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, South Lake Union, Pioneer Square and Ballard neighborhoods.
Rich started in the commercial real estate business in 1989, and in 1990, he was named the Colliers International Rookie of the Year. For the 20 years he spent at Colliers, Rich was recognized both locally and nationally as a top producer. In 2010, Rich was recruited to NAI PSP as a Partner. Rich has represented landlords for the leasing of over five million square feet of space and his extensive list of transactions totals more than $250 million.
What Rich values most about his role is that it grants him the opportunity help others; over the years, he's earned a solid reputation among clients and industry peers for his negotiation style, professionalism, and positive attitude. This reputation is no coincidence. He makes an active effort to establish and maintain long-term relationships with peers and clients that are rooted in trust, transparency, and positivity, always making an effort to return calls, listen to his clients, and follow through on what he says he's going to do. He strives to make everyone he comes into contact with feel important and as a personal mission statement, he follows the Mandino maxim, "I will persist until I succeed".
