As a committed downtown advocate, Mahala serves as board chair for the Downtown Stockton Alliance, and as a board member for TEAM Charter and the Central Parking District Advisory Board. Burns has been with Cort Companies since 1995 and is an integral partner in Downtown Stockton's revitalization. On her off time, she is a dressage rider and competitor, last year earning her bronze medal.
