ABOUT COMMERCIAL AGENT Joe Sera

Joe has been with Murphy Commercial since his sophomore year in college. After graduating in 2016 from the University of Maryland Smith School of Business as part of the Scholars Program and with top honors in finance, Joe chose to pursue a career at Murphy Commercial.

There is no better business for me than commercial real estate. I can focus my financial acumen and entrepreneurial energy while having a great team by my side. Every day, I get to work with people from different walks of life and there is nothing more gratifying than finalizing a deal knowing that all concerned are walking away happy.

On a daily basis, Joe is active in sales and leasing, while utilizing his expertise in finance and investment properties to specialize in tax-deferred exchanges under Section 1031of the IRS code.

Joe's work with institutional investors and private families alike is personally rewarding and allows him to give back to the community. Joe believes that giving back is an essential part of a life worth living as well as a successful career. He serves on the Board of Directors for Bo's Effort, which is a local non-profit organization named after Joe's childhood friend, whose mission is to break the stigma of mental illness through awareness. Since inception, they have raised and donated more than $400,000 to those causes in Anne Arundel County that promote the stated mission and are looking to aggressively expand their reach.

An active member of the educational community, Joe supports the lacrosse team as an alumnus of DeMatha Catholic High School, the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and College Park Scholarsa living, learning program for academically talented students. Joe is respected for his business acumen and serves on the board of two privately held consumer product companies.
