ABOUT COMMERCIAL AGENT Barry Spizer

Barry H. Spizer is the founder and the Managing Partner of SRSA Commercial Real Estate, Inc. and its affiliated companies SRSA Gulf South Management (a property management company) and Gulf South Commercial Construction (a construction management company). SRSA has served New Orleans, Louisiana and the Gulf South since 1991, specializing in the leasing and management of office buildings and retail centers as well as the sale of commercial land and investment properties.

Spizer has received numerous awards and has been honored twice by the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors with the award for the highest volume of commercial sales and leases in the city. Some of his largest commercial real estate transactions include the sale of the Entergy1250 Poydras buildings ($76 million), the Energy Center building ($60.9 million), the Freeport McMoran building ($33 million), the Causeway Plaza office complex ($27.5 million) and the sale of the First Industrial Louisiana portfolio ($63.5 million).

Spizer has also served as an office tenant representative for numerous major corporations and large local tenants such as Allstate Insurance Company, Ernst & Young, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Wells Fargo Bank, Procter & Gamble, American Express, StanleyBlack & Decker, plus numerous local law firms and CPA firms.

Additionally, Spizer has performed some very interesting consulting assignments which include a leasehold valuation of the Canadian pavilion from the 1984 Worlds Fair, serving as an expert witness in the K&B Drugs headquarters office building expropriation case and providing the Darryl Berger Company investment analysis for their Canal Place acquisition.

Barry Spizer is a licensed Louisiana real estate broker and received his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 1985 and has served as president of his local chapter, as a regional officer for Texas Louisiana Oklahoma Mississippi, and in 2003 he served as the international President for the CCIM Institute, which has over 15,000 members in 34 countries.

Spizer is also responsible for developing Northpark Business Park in Covington, LA, home to the Louisiana headquarters for Chevron, LOOP, Pool Corp. and Smoothie King. He has developed buildings for Allstate Insurance, Federal Express, Verizon Wireless and re-development of a 140,000 sq. ft. shopping center in Slidell, LA. Additionally, he is a partnerdeveloper of five Marriott Courtyard and Residence Inn properties in suburban New Orleans.

A 1977 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Barry received a Bachelor of Business Administration and was named their outstanding marketing student. Spizer has served on the boards of the Jewish Community Center and Gates of Prayer Synagogue.
