A graduate of Arizona State University, Rod earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business while majoring in Real Estate. While attending ASU, Rod worked in the Research Department of Scott Jackson Brokerage. He directed industrial land and building research for 38 sales associates. During his senior year, he interned with The Ellis Corporation, a real estate development consulting firm. While at Ellis, Rod performed financial analysis and completed marketing feasibility studies for office, retail and industrial projects. His responsibilities also included assisting project manager coordination and implementation of brokerage efforts. The marketing of the firms developments lead to his interest in pursuing brokerage. Rod commenced his brokerage career in industrial property leasing and sales with Cutler Commercial in 1987.
While at Cutler Commercial, Rod has completed hundreds of transactions that have included build-to-suits, the sale of end-user industrial and office property as well as the leasing of incubator warehouse suites, dock-high distribution facilities, back-office, and research and development space. Some of the companies Rod has completed lease negotiations with include Anheuser-Busch, AT&T, Avnet, Ford Motor Company, Grinnell Fire Protection, Hunt-Wesson, JB RodgersKinetics, Maricopa County, Marriott, MCI, Motorola, Norwest Bank, Sherwin-Williams, Sylvania Lighting, US Door, US West, Wal-Mart and Wells Fargo.
