
Jerry grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. His love of sports kept him engaged in athletics from an early age and was his ticket to a football scholarship at the University of Tennessee. Under the tutelage of Coach Doug Dickey, Jerry and his teammates played in three major bowl games ('66 Gator, '67 Orange, and '68 Cotton Bowls) and won the Southeastern Conference in 1967. Jerry graduated with a degree in Marketing and Transportation in 1969 and coached the UT freshman offensive line that Fall while working on a masters degree. In 1970, he was honored by UT fans as a member of the News-Sentinel's Tennessee All-Decade team for the '60's. Upon graduation, Jerry and his wife, Mary Lynn, remained in Knoxville and are proud parents of two sons, which gave them a granddaughter and grandson.
After a 25 year award-filled career in the automotive replacement parts industry as a salesman, sales manager, and marketing manager with firms like Maremont, ITT, and Arrow Automotive, Jerry decided on Commercial Real Estate Sales as his career path of choice. He chose Oliver Smith Realty & Development Co., Inc. because of its long standing history of success, reputation and recognition in the market place, and a common philosophy. what is right, is right and that's what we will do.
